A coffee shop in Birmingham, AL began serving CBD oil infused lattes in all 4 of its locations on Monday. It has sold dozens of drinks in the first 2 days. CBD can be made from industrial hemp. The kind of CBD oil derived from cannabis has been allowed by limited exceptions to the Alabama Legislature. The 2018 Agriculture and Nutrition Act changed the status of hemp from a controlled substance to an agricultural commodity. This month, Alabama approved the applications of 180 farmers to grow hemp for certain uses, including making CBD oil. The manager at the coffee shop said that people had seen enough of the positive things happening with CBD, and that the time felt right to introduce it into its drinks. It costs $1.00 extra to add CBD to the drinks in those 4 shops.
