CBD and THC work together, as sort of a team, to amplify each other\’s benefits. CBD enhances the ability of THC to act as a painkiller, and also to being out its anticancer properties, while it lessens the psychoactive features of THC, as well.
It is a misconception that CBD is the only one of the two substances that has medicinal properties. THC has been found to have notable therapeutic benefits of its own. For example, it has the ability to inhibit an enzyme that causes the formation of amyloid beta plaque, which is known to cause Alzheimer\’s related dementia. Single molecule THC, which is Marinol, has been recognized by the federal government to be antiemetic, that is, an antinausea compound, and also to be an appetite stimulator. This substance was therefore classified as a Schedule III pharmaceutical, which means that it has little potential of being abused.
The two compounds of CBD and THC work best together, and enhance each other\’s therapeutic effects. It has also been ascertained that a combination of CBD and THC have more potent anti tumor effects when used together, than either compound alone. This effect was studied for brain and breast cancer cells. The combination of CBD and THC was also found to be more helpful for helping neuropathic pain than either substance as a single molecule.
